Your Final 24-Hour Burning Man Clothing Checklist
Share
Use this final pre-departure checklist to confirm warmth, dust protection, footwear, lighting and accessible arrival gear.
Quick answer: The final day is for verification, not reinvention. Stop adding speculative costumes and confirm that every essential system is complete and reachable.
Lay out the complete systems
Group clothing into daytime, nighttime, sleep and emergency layers. Confirm that each group includes the accessories it depends on.
Test lights and closures
Charge batteries, test runtime and operate zippers with gloves. Pull on trims and remove anything that has started to loosen.
Pack the arrival layer last
Water, goggles, dust mask, hat and a warm layer should not be buried. Road and gate conditions can require them before camp is built.
Use a fixed audit order
Begin with entry requirements, water, food, shelter and medication. Continue through sun and dust protection, warm clothing, footwear, lighting and repair supplies. Only after those systems pass should you spend the final hours adding optional accessories. A fixed sequence reduces the chance that excitement hides a missing essential.
Charge, label and contain
Charge every light and power bank, test the full runtime and label items with contact or camp information when appropriate. Place repair tools and spare power in known locations. Keep dusty-return bags separate so they are not accidentally used for clean arrival gear.
